Project Overview
Maryland Transit Administration awarded this contract to Nichols to replace existing gable windows at the north and south ends of eight (8) buildings, total of sixteen (16) window elevations.
Project Scope
Nichols’ scope for the MTA Gable Windows Replacement project is to include scaffolding under gable windows with traffic and pedestrian control during the demolition and construction period. Nichols will be responsible for the setting up temporary barricades, signs, and/or flaggers when appropriate for construction. Window replacement will be done in phases to minimize traffic disruption for extended periods of time. It will demolish the existing windows at the north and south ends of eight (8) buildings. All HVAC equipment adjacent to work areas will be protected. Nichols will furnish and install new windows, new aluminum framing where shown, replace damaged roof shingles, remove lead paint around existing window openings (frame and trim), repaint with new to match existing colors. NCI will coordinate with Historical Treatment Specialists during construction phases.
