Nichols Contracting, Inc. is a full service general contracting company with expertise in all aspects of the construction process. Headquartered in the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan Area, Nichols specializes in elevator/escalator modernization and additions as well as commercial renovations and life safety upgrade projects.
Fred Nichols founded our organization in 1991 based on the simple promise – “to do what we say we are going to do, when we say we will do it.” Formed as a true, general construction firm, Nichols saw a void in the construction industry for self-performing companies specializing in life safety construction projects. Nichols has built upon that small market to become a leader in the commercial construction industry. In 2013, Nichols Contracting, opened the Florida Division, allowing us to service our clients in the Mid Atlantic Area as well as the South East. Since Inception, Nichols has been able to continue to grow on the strength of our people and our achievements are the work of our dedicated team of over 100 employees.

Safety and Education
Safety is a top priority at Nichols. Employees are our most valuable asset, and we are dedicated to protecting their health and safety each and every day. An active culture of safety is set from the leadership of the company and requires the involvement and commitment of all employees. Our project teams all know the number one priority of any project is to perform the job safely.
The Nichols safety program promotes the policies and procedures we’ve developed to assist employees in minimizing the risks inherent in our work. The objective of the program is to establish a culture of safety among all employees. Job-specific training is held on a regular basis and as project conditions warrant. All our field staff maintain requisite OSHA certifications.
Nichols also understands that job safety is a collaboration of not only Nichols employees, but other parties involved with the projects. Nichols strives to ensure that all parties understand the Nichols safety program on each project.
