Nichols Contracting is very grateful to have been nominated for and awarded the 2013 Sandy Spring Community Business Excellence Award along with one of our favorite restaurants and good friends, Dempsey’s Restaurant. Please read more about it in the Gazette here.
The award, issued by the Sandy Spring Civic Association, acknowledges businesses in the community that enhance and preserve the spirit of Sandy Spring while using outstanding business practices, give excellent customer service, participate in community sponsored events, offer special contributions that promote the growth of the community and employ environmentally friendly practices that provide sustainability.
Nichols Contracting was acknowledged for its continued dedication to preserving the historic character of the community by helping revitalize and preserve the historic Sandy Spring Village Center through redeveloping commercial properties and preserving historic artifacts at these properties.
In addition, NCI used best practices and added environmentally friendly amenities to these projects, such as a green roof on the Stabler Building and repurposing wooden beams, doors, and equipment from the old Lansdale Mill in its new corporate office.
Nichols Contracting also contributed to the community by supporting Sherwood High School, hosting community events on its properties, and installing and maintaining the entryway signs to Sandy Spring’s historic village center.
